Mainzeal Construction Commits To Profitool 6

DENVER, August 1, 2008

Mainzeal Construction, Limited and Profitool, Inc. are pleased to announce a renewed commitment to go forward together. As a part of this renewed commitment, Mainzeal's Board of Directors recently approved a major software project to:

1. Reduce its dependence on outside processes and systems and
2. Replace these systems with a wider implementation and use of the Profitool 6 application.

While the cost of this project is anticipated to be significant, Mainzeal feels it will be much less than the cost of migrating to a new ERP system. In addition, Mainzeal will be moving forward from a known position – that being a highly functional, stable Profitool product.

Over the years, Mainzeal has come to rely on a number of outside processes and systems to produce various reports to run its business, which includes the use of many spreadsheets. A major objective of this project is to remove the inherent problems that spreadsheet-based processes and systems create. These processes will be replaced with a broader implementation of Profitool 6 that will provide the necessary business and process controls over the source data and automate the running of required reports.

Mainzeal put Profitool 6 and its web interface into production in May 2006. There are approximately 180 active logins to the software system; of which, nearly 140 are operations or field personnel. The enhancements that will come from this project are all based on the web interface paradigm. Moreover, a significant result will show in a web-based, grid-like data entry mechanism that will allow data entry in a spreadsheet-like manner and provide a reporting view of data that includes the ability to “roll up” the results into multi-level views (summaries). The emphasis of the development will be on improving and simplifying the tasks of the site-based staff (particularly in removing the need to use spreadsheets), as well as improving the reporting to management.

Note that one of the major objectives of this project is to have a single point of entry for any data with that data flowing to wherever it is required, e.g., a variation could be entered into a single screen and the data would affect not only the revised budget but any associated subcontracts. This is something that management at Mainzeal is excited about.

Mainzeal is 100 percent committed to going forward with Profitool 6 and, at the same time, excited about this project and the inherent benefits Mainzeal will enjoy for many years to come.
